Mudryk to Chelsea: yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Some weeks into January 2023, the "here we go confirmed" for this key transfer was revealed by prominent sports journalist and transfer news prodigy, Fabrizio Romano.

It's been almost a year since the Ukrainian star boy was unveiled as a Chelsea player right at Stamford bridge where he received a cozy welcome from the fans.

With a lot of expectations from the fans, the team and the Chelsea management, what has been his performance so far, and what does the future hold for the young lad? Let's take a look.

He made his premier league debut as a first team player, when he came on in the 69th minute against away side crystal palace and the rest has been history. Of course, a history goals, assists, mistakes, injuries, wins and losses.

In his first few games for Chelsea, his great-player-potential was obvious in his speed, attempted dribbles and a charge for goals. However, playing in the premier league for the first time, for the billionaires club, coupled with the expectations from the fans had an obvious not so great an impact on his early performances.

It got so many fans trash-talking the young star and saying "he wasn't worth the hype."

They called him a fraud, a clueless player and soon, he was crowned 007. 007 not because of his speed and driving accuracy in the pitch, but because he had 0 goals and 0 assists in 7 games. Brutal!

But like an ambitious player would and should do, he despised the trolls, trained harder, put more effort and control in the pitch and gradually in the shortest time frame, became the player they originally thought he is.

He went on to score his first premier league goal for Chelsea for a 2:0 win against Burnley, provided his first assist against Southampton and has since then made very impressive goal contributions to the team.

The stats don't lie. In his first season for the club, he scored 10 goals in 39 matches for the blues and in the current season, he has scored 5 premier league goals in 11 appearances for the club, with fantastic goal contributions in all competitions.

It's safe to say, he has silenced the trolls. He's now a "proper Chels" earning chants of praises, match-in and match-out by Chelsea fans across the world. In fact, the formerly talked down fraud is now proudly known as the next Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC. Even rival fans can't help but appreciate his consistency and superb performance.

What does the future hold for the Chelsea and Ukraine international?

His contract expires in 2030, 6 calendar years to offer his best for Chelsea and of course become one of the world's greatest players.

During his time at Chelsea, he has featured in the central forward position, left and right wings, and midfield positions.

The versatility is interesting because he does almost perfectly well in each of these positions. He defends, he tackles, he runs, he dribbles, he passes, he assists and he scores!

So much to look out for in Mykalo Misha Mudryk.

Hopefully, someday in the world of football, he is tagged "the man, the myth, the legend."
